WinAC Basis is a low-cost solution for control without precise time
requirements, a large number of fast data processing and control tasks (control tasks
refer to PLC control functions) combined or other PC tasks control occasions.
2. WinAC
PN
The first SIMATIC CPU to support PROFInet communication standard, performance similar
to WinAC Basis. WinAC PN supports Component-based Automation (CBA) and PROFInet
communication standards. Component-based automation and PROFInet provide an open
standard for data exchange between mechanical and system units in complex tasks. Data
exchange is configured using the SIMATIC iMap tool. WinAC PN is suitable for the
following tasks:
? Coordination and connectivity between machinery and workshop areas
from across the complex system
? Control system units or machinery can be integrated
into a full range of complex systems
WinAC Basis 4.1 has an option WinAC PN, and WinAC
Basis 4.1 with the WinAC PN option supports PROFInet and CBA.
3. WinAC RTX(WinAC Real-
time)
WinAC RTX provides the real-time subsystem of Windows 2000/XP with “hard real-
time” and “crash resistant” features. It is suitable for control tasks with high speed
and precise time requirements, such as motion control, closed-loop control, etc.

WinAC MP
WinAC MP is based on the WinCE operating system and the SIMATIC MP370(a multi-
function panel) hardware platform. The MP370 is designed to be hard disk and fan free,
and WinCE has real-time features that enable strict deterministic actions. WinAC MP is
used in harsh industrial environments and where there is a lot of data to process.

WinAC Slot 412/416
It is inserted in the PC in the form of a board card, on which the
CPU, memory and other components for controlling tasks have been integrated. It can be
controlled independently from PC. An MPI/DP interface and a DP interface are integrated
on the board. WinAC Slot is suitable for situations with high security and stability
requirements. The WinAC Slot 412/416 is similar in performance to the S7-412/416.
